Our Experience at ICEX Forum 2026: Driving International Growth from Spain

On 2 July, we had the privilege of attending ICEX Forum 2026, one of Spain’s leading events for companies committed to internationalisation, innovation and global business growth.

The Forum brought together businesses, international trade experts, institutional representatives and members of the ICEX Trade and Economic Network to exchange knowledge, discuss the latest economic trends and create new business opportunities in an increasingly competitive global environment.

For Digital Optima, participating in the Forum was particularly meaningful. As an Australian technology company that has recently established operations in Spain, we have chosen the country as our strategic base for expanding across Europe and accelerating our growth into international markets.

Spain: A Strategic Hub for International Growth

Our decision to establish our operations in Spain reflects our long-term vision for international growth. Beyond offering a dynamic and innovative business environment, Spain provides a strategic gateway for companies looking to expand internationally thanks to its geographic location, strong connections with Europe, Latin America and North Africa, and its well-developed institutional support network for business.

In this context, ICEX plays a key role by supporting companies operating from Spain in their international expansion while also promoting foreign investment, helping to build an increasingly competitive and globally connected business ecosystem.

A Day of Learning, Networking and New Opportunities

Throughout the Forum, we had the opportunity to discover first-hand the tools, programmes and services that ICEX offers to companies with international ambitions.

Keynote sessions, panel discussions and meetings with specialists from the ICEX Trade and Economic Offices Network provided valuable insights into many of the topics shaping the future of international business, including:

  • International growth strategies.
  • Innovation and digital transformation.
  • Artificial intelligence for business.
  • Sustainability and competitiveness.
  • Geopolitics and risk management.
  • Emerging opportunities in global markets.

Each session offered practical knowledge and an up-to-date perspective on today’s international business landscape, helping us further strengthen our long-term growth strategy.

The Value of Networking

One of the most rewarding aspects of the Forum was the opportunity to connect with companies from a wide range of industries, exchange experiences and engage with specialists covering numerous international markets.

These conversations help build trusted relationships, uncover collaboration opportunities and provide valuable insight into the challenges and opportunities that each market presents.

For a company committed to international growth, this exchange of knowledge is every bit as valuable as access to new tools, programmes and business support services.

Looking Ahead

Our participation in ICEX Forum 2026 has reinforced our belief that collaboration between businesses, institutions and industry professionals is one of the key foundations for successful international expansion.

We return with fresh ideas, valuable new connections and an even clearer vision of the next steps in our international growth journey from Spain.

We would like to thank the entire ICEX team for organising an outstanding event that encourages knowledge sharing, promotes innovation and further strengthens Spain’s position as a leading destination for globally minded businesses.

We look forward to continuing to grow our presence in Spain, developing new strategic partnerships and delivering our solutions to customers and partners around the world, convinced that successful internationalisation is built through collaboration, knowledge and innovation.
